Turlock CA is a great little town just south of Modesto, California. The largest draw to the town (minus the farm land) is California State University CSU Stanislaus. The school brings in many students from across the valley and the world - which brings lots of traffic through the city during the year. The University has even brought in noted speakers such as Bill Cosby and Sarah Palin, which helps stimulate the local economy. 

The town is somewhat divided between the older downtown area and the newer north east part of town, however its such a small area that over time Turlock will come together. Overall, Turlock would be a great place to start a career and raise a family. Compared to larger valley cities like Modesto & Stockton - Turlock is a very safe place with fewer major crimes because of the smaller population.

Many people that live in Turlock work in Ceres, Merced, Modesto, Riverbank, Manteca, Fresno, Tracy and even the Bay Area. However, there are many good places to find a job within the city. From part time to full time, the city offers it all - along with affordable housing and living expenses. I actually lived in Turlock myself for over 4 years and never needed a car because getting around town was very easy.
