This company has a larger presence in Modesto and other cities south of Stockton, but the company is a market leader in town. You don't need your real-estate license for all positions at PMZ, as they need employees to handle marketing, accounting, office and customer service type jobs. Obtaining your Real Estate license is probably the best way to make a career type salary at the company, however you can obtain an entry level position in companies like this and move up quickly. If you have a strong personality and love talking to people of all ages, being a real estate agent is a great job. You basically are doing a service that your client needs and are greatful when you do a good job for them. Having a degree in business would help, however you are simply trying to maximize your clients profits when they sell, and save them money when they buy property. Marketing yourself and your clients properties is the biggest challenge for new agents, and going to a respected agent like PMZ will help you start a career with a built in marketing department.

Stockton's Golf Courses

Swenson Park and Van Buskirk Golf Course are managed by the City of Stockton (as of February 2011) so you can apply to any open positions via the Parks & Recreation information we provide at the top of this article. However, there are many other wonderful golf courses in Stockton (far more than most cities this size) so the opportunity to land a job is good. Another option for Stockton residents is to work at Del Rio Country Club, located in North Modesto - this beautiful Country Club accepts applications year round, and its not too far of a commute for Stockton Residents. Also Woodbridge Country Club in Lodi is another option besides the Stockton courses listed below.

Remember: Working at a golf course (especially private) means that you have the potential to meet other business owners and employers in the area. If you do a good job for the club, there will be several members willing to hire you.

Brookside Country Club
3130 Brookside Rd
This course seems to just get better and better every year. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the course, and he is a world renowned golf course architect. The large clubhouse stages club events and wedding receptions year round. The task required to maintain the property and meet member expectations is very high - but rewarding. Positions include Course Maintenance, Club House Staff, Outside Services (or cart guys), Catering, Serving, Cooking, Bar-tending and many other positions that come available throughout the year. Some jobs require you to be at the club when it opens (can easily be as early as 5am) but you can make good money in tips and other networking possibilities at Brookside Country Club.

Stockton Golf & Country Club
3800 W. Country Club Blvd
This course is one of the original courses in the area. An updated clubhouse makes this one of the best places to be a member in Stockton. The jobs available are similar to other courses in the area. The highest turnover (most openings) is usually in the outside services and serving/food areas of the course. Open almost year-round, work here is steady and good pay.

The Reserve At Spanos Park
6301 West Eight Mile Road
One of the newest courses in the area that is getting better with age. The sometimes windy conditions make this course un-playable - however homes and trees will provide more wind breaks in the future. Often in great condition - this course gets heavy play and practice on its large driving range. During the peak summer season, outside services will be busy cleaning carts.
